I’m so excited to share the story behind Chiaki Vintage and introduce you to my world of unique and creative treasures. The name Chiaki Vintage comes from two things I’m truly passionate about—Chiaki, one of my favourite Japanese singers, and the vintage treasures that I’ve always loved collecting. It’s a name that blends my love for Japan’s rich culture with my interest in timeless, vintage pieces.
私の情熱と創造性が詰まった「Chiaki Vintage」のストーリーを皆さまにご紹介できることを、とても嬉しく思います。 この名前の由来は、私の大好きな日本人歌手「千秋（Chiaki）」さんと、私が長年愛してやまない「ヴィンテージ（Vintage）」アイテムを組み合わせたものです。日本の豊かな文化への愛情と、時代を超えて愛されるヴィンテージ品への興味が融合して誕生しました。
My journey started simply: I wanted to sort out the overcrowded stuff in my life. What began as an attempt to declutter my home turned into a full-fledged online shop. Over the years, I’ve sold everything from clothes and shoes, to jewellery, watches, bike parts, rider jackets, and figurines—basically, anything you can imagine! Through my eBay shop, I built a community of incredible customers who shared my passion for unique finds.
活動のきっかけは、身の回りの物を整理したいというシンプルな思いからでした。最初は断捨離のつもりでしたが、それがいつの間にか本格的なオンラインショップへと発展しました。 これまで、洋服や靴、アクセサリー、時計、バイクのパーツ、ライダースジャケット、フィギュアなど、あらゆるジャンルのアイテムを扱ってきました。eBayでの販売を通じて、ユニークな一点物を愛する素晴らしいお客様とのコミュニティを築くことができました。
As a huge fan of Japanese culture, I also have a deep love for all things related to Japan—especially the unique, Japan-made items I’ve collected over time. These Japanese & Oriental influences shape my personal style and life. They even inspired me to start designing and selling anime-inspired pins and stickers as a way to bridge the world of dreams with the realities of everyday life. It’s a fun little project that allows me to bring a bit of my fandom into the real world.
日本文化の大ファンとして、日本製のアイテムには特に深い愛着を持っています。こうした日本や東洋の影響は、私のパーソナルスタイルやライフスタイルそのものを形作っています。 その情熱が高じて、現在はアニメにインスパイアされたピンバッジやステッカーのデザイン・販売も行っています。「夢の世界と日常を繋ぐ架け橋」として、ファンとしての想いを形にできるこのプロジェクトは、私にとって非常に楽しい挑戦です。
In 2022, my husband and I made a big move from London to Boston—a shift from the hustle and bustle of city life to a more semi-countryside feel. It was both exciting and a bit daunting, with everything being so new to me. But sometimes, you must let something go to embrace something new. That’s when I decided to take the leap and start selling more seriously.
2022年、夫と共にロンドンからボストン（リンカーンシャー州）へと移住しました。都会の喧騒から、のどかな田舎の雰囲気への変化は、ワクワクすると同時に少し不安もありました。 しかし、「新しいものを手に入れるには、何かを手放さなければならない」という言葉の通り、この移住を機に、より本格的にビジネスに打ち込む決意をしました。
Running an online business has been a wonderful opportunity, and I never imagined I’d one day tick off my entrepreneur box. I’ve been able to leverage my background in graphic design and marketing to help grow Chiaki Vintage. These skills have proven invaluable in building the brand, connecting with customers, and creating a visually appealing shop that’s easy to navigate.
起業家としての一歩を踏み出すとは夢にも思っていませんでしたが、これまでのグラフィックデザインとマーケティングのキャリアが、Chiaki Vintageの成長に大きな力となっています。ブランドの構築や、視覚的に魅力的なショップ作りにおいて、これらのスキルを最大限に活用しています。
So far, I’ve sold over 2.5k items on eBay, and I’ve packed every single one myself. I take great pride in my packaging—I mean, I pack with love. Ensuring it reaches you just as it left me. I also work with a responsible courier to make sure each item arrives smoothly and safely.
これまでにeBayで2,500点以上のアイテムを販売してきましたが、そのすべてを私自身の手で梱包してきました。私は自分のパッキングに大きな誇りを持っています。それはまさに「愛を込めた梱包」です。発送した時と同じ完璧な状態で皆さまの手元に届くよう、細心の注意を払っています。また、信頼できる配送業者と提携し、一つひとつの大切なアイテムがスムーズかつ安全に到着するよう万全を期しています。
